These AquaDams® were used to dewater and protect the site from wave action during the grading process.

The huge amount of necessary fill material has been deposited and must now be protected from scouring caused by wave action. Sand tubes will then be installed as a permanent wave-break around the 14 mile perimeter of this section of Galveston Bay. The inside perimeter will be planted and will eventually become an aquatic habitat.

Filled sand tubes are all that is left after the AquaDams® were removed. The sand tubes were furnished by Bradley Industrial Textiles.
